Body composition training consultation

The scale doesn't tell the story. Your body composition does.

Two people at the same weight can look and feel completely different. What matters is the ratio: how much is muscle, how much is fat, and how those are changing over time.

Your protocol is built to shift that ratio. Structured resistance training, calibrated nutrition, and clinical monitoring so you're gaining muscle and losing fat, not guessing which one is moving.

You might recognise yourself here

You've lost weight before and watched it come back.

The plan that worked at thirty doesn't touch you at forty-five.

You're doing what you've always done and your body has stopped responding.

Perimenopause, post-pregnancy, or a thyroid shift has changed the rules.

You want someone competent in your corner who actually pays attention.

What's involved

Understanding where you are

We listen. What has worked, what has not, what your week actually looks like. Where pathology would change the plan, we refer for testing.

Nutrition

A way of eating you can sustain, calibrated to your metabolism. Built by an accredited dietitian.

Training

Resistance-led where appropriate, because what you keep matters as much as what you lose.

Supplementation

Only what's worth taking for your situation. No stacks for the sake of stacks.

Ongoing adjustment

Plans that don't move with you stop working. We check in, review, and adjust as your body and life change.

How we work together

Start with a consult

15-minute call, free. We listen, then recommend the right next step.

Build the plan

Written, specific, grounded in what we know about your body and your life.

Live with it, then review

We adjust early if something isn't landing, and keep adjusting as your body changes.

Built on data, not extremes.

Our protocols use the smallest effective intervention, the right level of supervision, and the timeframe your body actually needs.

Sustainable isn't slower for the sake of it. It's the version that holds.

Frequently asked

Yes. Our guided weight loss protocol is clinician-led and supervised by Australian-registered doctors. Every patient starts with a clinical consult and, where indicated, a pathology referral to understand what's driving weight gain or resistance in your specific case. From there, your doctor, dietitian and exercise physiologist build the plan together. It's medical weight loss in the proper sense: bloods, history, ongoing review and adjustment, not a generic diet with a clinical label on it.
Most patients notice changes in energy, sleep and appetite within the first two to four weeks, before the visible changes arrive. Body composition shifts (fat loss with muscle preserved) typically become obvious between weeks eight and sixteen. Sustainable weight loss isn't fast by design. The protocols that hold long-term work at a pace your metabolism can adapt to, rather than a pace that triggers it to defend the weight you're trying to lose.
Not if the protocol is built properly. Muscle preservation is the entire point of a guided weight loss program built on body composition rather than scale weight. Our exercise physiologists design resistance-led training to protect lean mass while you lose fat, and our dietitians build nutrition around protein adequacy at every meal. Crash diets and cardio-only programs lose muscle. A clinician-led body composition protocol is specifically designed to avoid that.
Where clinically appropriate, your doctor may include prescribed medical support as part of your protocol. All prescribing decisions are made one-to-one between you and your doctor in the consult, following current Australian clinical guidelines. We don't lead with medication and we don't prescribe it without the surrounding plan. Medication used inside a proper nutrition, training and supervision framework holds. Medication used alone almost never does.
Yes. Perimenopause changes the rules of weight loss because oestrogen, progesterone, sleep and insulin sensitivity all shift, often at the same time. A protocol that worked at thirty rarely works at forty-five, which is why most women in perimenopause feel like they're doing everything right and getting nothing back. Our protocols are built specifically around these shifts, often in combination with the hormonal health protocol where it's clinically warranted.
Yes. The Wellness Clinic operates Australia-wide. Consults are delivered via telehealth, pathology referrals are sent to your nearest collection centre, and your protocol, supplements, check-ins and rebooking all live inside the member portal. Patients in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and regional areas all work with us the same way. Where in-person care is part of your protocol, your clinical team will coordinate the right local pathway with you.
Pricing depends on the protocol your doctor designs, because every plan is built around your specific case rather than a flat package. The initial 15-minute consult is free, and you'll receive transparent costs for the recommended next steps before committing to anything. Members of our free account tier see standard pricing inside the portal. Patients who upgrade to our paid membership tier see member pricing. Book a consult to get specific numbers for your case.

Understanding body composition

Body composition is the breakdown of fat, muscle, bone and water that makes up your body. It matters more than weight, because two people at the same weight can have entirely different metabolic health, strength and risk profiles. A guided weight loss program built on body composition does the harder, more useful work. It targets fat loss while preserving muscle, rather than chasing the number on the scale.

For most adults in Australia, the standard approach to weight loss has been the same for thirty years. Eat less, move more, try harder. The advice isn't wrong exactly, but it ignores almost everything that actually drives long-term change. Hormones shift through your thirties and forties. Sleep debt accumulates. Stress dysregulates appetite. Training without resistance work erodes the muscle that keeps your metabolism responsive. By the time someone arrives at our body composition protocol, they've usually done the basics for years and watched the results either fail to arrive or fail to stick.

The clinician-led model changes that. Your protocol starts with a consult and, where indicated, a pathology referral. We look at the markers that influence how your body stores and releases fat: fasting insulin, HbA1c, thyroid function, sex hormones, vitamin D and iron. Where those markers are off, we treat them as part of the plan, not as something to deal with later. Where they're fine, we move on.

Nutrition is built by our dietitians around the way you actually eat. Not a meal plan you'll abandon by week three. Training is built by our exercise physiologists around the way you actually move, with resistance work as the spine of it. Protecting muscle isn't optional in a sustainable fat loss protocol. It's the whole point.

Where clinically appropriate, your doctor may include prescribed medical support. Prescribing decisions sit between you and your doctor and follow current Australian clinical guidelines. We don't lead with medication. We lead with a plan, then add medical support where it earns its place.

Throughout the protocol, your progress is tracked in the member portal. Bloods, body composition, training, energy, sleep, the changes that move first and the changes that follow. Most patients notice better sleep and steadier energy in the first month before the visible changes catch up. Body composition shifts become obvious between weeks eight and sixteen, then settle into maintenance.

Body composition rarely sits alone. Hormonal balance, recovery and longevity all influence how easily your body changes shape, and they all benefit from the same clinical foundations. Many patients on the body composition protocol also work with us on hormonal health, longevity or regenerative protocols at the same time. The plans coordinate, your data lives in one place, and your clinical team works together. You can read more about how we structure that on our approach page, or explore writing on fat loss, recomposition and metabolic health in our articles section.

What separates a guided weight loss program from a diet is the supervision around it. Adjustments happen because your data tells us they should, not because you've hit week four of someone else's calendar. That's the version of weight loss that holds.
