Skin Health Protocol Australia
Clinical skin health consultation

Most skincare works on the surface of a problem that lives underneath it.

Hormones, inflammation, sleep, gut function, nutrition, sun history and stress all write their story on your skin first.

A protocol that treats your skin without treating the rest of you can only do so much. Yours is designed to do both.

You might recognise yourself here

Adult acne that hasn't responded to topical treatment.

Skin that's changed since your hormones did.

Persistent redness, sensitivity, or reactivity that won't settle.

The long tail of Australian sun history catching up.

You want skin that ages intentionally, not passively.

What's involved

Understanding where you are

Full clinical history, skin assessment, and where indicated, pathology referral. Skin issues often sit downstream of hormones, inflammation or nutrition.

Nutrition

Built around skin-supportive eating: protein adequacy, omega balance, blood sugar regulation, micronutrients. By an accredited dietitian.

Prescribed routine

Targeted topicals where appropriate. Fewer products, properly chosen.

In-clinic treatments

Delivered by our cosmetic clinicians, sequenced to support the underlying protocol.

Ongoing adjustment

Skin changes with seasons, hormones and life. We review and adjust accordingly.

Frequently asked

Both. The skin health protocol starts with a clinical consult and, where indicated, pathology referral. Your doctor identifies the internal drivers (hormones, inflammation, nutrition, gut function) and treats them as part of the plan. Our cosmetic clinicians then deliver the surface-level work: prescribed topical routines and in-clinic treatments sequenced to support what's happening underneath. The clinical side makes the cosmetic side work better, and the cosmetic side accelerates the visible results. Neither is optional.
Not necessarily. The consult and clinical planning happen via telehealth, Australia-wide. Pathology referrals are sent to your nearest collection centre. Nutrition, supplements and prescribed routines are all managed through the member portal. If your protocol includes in-clinic treatments delivered by our cosmetic clinicians, those are scheduled at partner locations or coordinated locally with you. Many patients start with the clinical foundations and add in-clinic treatments once the underlying plan is in place.
Most patients notice less reactivity, less morning puffiness and a more even tone within the first four to six weeks. Between weeks eight and sixteen, the changes usually become visible to other people, not just in your mirror. Deeper improvements in texture, pigmentation, scarring and clarity follow over three to six months, depending on the starting point and the interventions involved. Skin turnover takes time. The protocol is designed around that biology rather than promising results faster than your skin can actually deliver them.
That's common, and it's why the protocol starts with pathology rather than a product recommendation. Hormonal skin changes, particularly around perimenopause, post-pregnancy, PCOS or thyroid shifts, respond poorly to topical-only treatment because the driver sits deeper. Where hormones are a factor, your doctor may coordinate with the hormonal health protocol so the skin plan treats both the surface and the signal at the same time.
In most cases, yes. Not because what you're using is necessarily wrong, but because a prescribed routine is more effective than an assembled one. Our cosmetic clinicians review what you're currently using, keep what's working, and replace what isn't with fewer, better-targeted products. Most patients end up with a simpler routine than they started with, not a more complicated one. Fewer products, properly chosen, applied consistently, beats a ten-step routine every time.
Yes. The Wellness Clinic operates Australia-wide. Consults are delivered via telehealth, pathology referrals are sent to your nearest collection centre, and your protocol, supplements, prescribed routine and rebooking all live inside the member portal. Patients in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and regional areas all access the skin health protocol the same way. Where in-clinic treatments are part of your plan, your team will coordinate the right local pathway with you.
Pricing depends on the protocol your doctor and cosmetic clinician design, because every skin plan is built around your specific case rather than a flat package. The initial 15-minute consult is free, and you'll receive transparent costs for the recommended next steps before committing. In-clinic treatments are quoted individually so your plan stays modular. Members of our free account tier see standard pricing inside the portal. Patients who upgrade to our paid membership tier see member pricing. Book a consult for specifics.

Understanding skin health

Skin is the most visible read on your internal health. It reflects hormones, inflammation, sleep, gut function, nutrition, sun history and stress. The reason most skincare disappoints is that it works on the surface of a problem that sits underneath it. Treating skin without treating the rest of the body is like polishing a window without cleaning the room.

A clinician-led skin health protocol takes the opposite approach. The surface gets attention, but the underlying drivers get attention first. That's what separates a protocol from a routine.

The skin health protocol starts with a consult and, where indicated, an external pathology referral. Adult acne, rosacea-like presentations, persistent redness and hormonal skin changes frequently sit downstream of measurable imbalances. Sex hormones, thyroid function, fasting insulin, inflammation markers, iron, vitamin D and gut-relevant markers all influence what shows up on your face. We look there before we recommend anything topical.

From there, your doctor and one of our cosmetic clinicians design the protocol together. Nutrition is built by our dietitians around skin-supportive eating: protein adequacy for collagen synthesis, omega balance for barrier function, blood sugar regulation to reduce acne-relevant insulin spikes, and the micronutrients that actually influence skin (zinc, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D). Generic anti-inflammatory diets rarely survive contact with real life, so we build around the way you actually eat.

The topical routine is prescribed, not assembled. Fewer products, properly chosen, with active ingredients matched to your skin and your tolerance. Australian skin sits in a particular context: high UV exposure, low ambient humidity in many regions, and a sun history that often outweighs every other variable. Protocols are built with that in mind.

In-clinic treatments are delivered by our cosmetic clinicians and sequenced to support the protocol. We don't lead with a treatment plan that ignores what's driving the issue underneath. Treatments are quoted individually so your protocol stays modular, and the sequencing is designed to compound rather than fight each other.

Where clinically appropriate, your doctor may prescribe medical support as part of the protocol, following current Australian clinical guidelines. Prescribing decisions sit between you and your doctor.

Skin rarely sits alone. Hormonal balance, inflammation, sleep, nutrition and stress all show up on your face before they show up anywhere else. Patients working on hormonal health, body composition or longevity protocols often see skin changes as a side effect, even when skin wasn't the original goal. When skin is the original goal, the protocol coordinates the other inputs in service of it. The plans coordinate, your data lives in one place inside the member portal, and your clinical team works together. You can read more about how we structure that on our approach page, or find skin-specific writing in our articles section.

Most patients notice the smallest changes first. Less reactivity. Less morning puffiness. A more even tone before the obvious texture and clarity improvements arrive. Between weeks eight and sixteen, the clinical changes usually become visible to other people, not just to you in the mirror. After that, the protocol moves into maintenance: lighter touch, longer intervals, ongoing adjustment as your skin and life change.

Skincare is a saturated market, and most of it isn't evidence-led. A clinician-led protocol does fewer things, properly. Your skin gets read clinically, your routine is prescribed not guessed, and your in-clinic work is delivered by trained cosmetic clinicians who know your wider picture. That's the version of skin health that holds.
